seasonal affective disorder is indeed, a SAD thing

the time change, the starry glow smack dab

in the middle of your anticipated sunny,

 afternoon coffee break

in the winter, we expect to be SAD

now, i look back to the years in which i watch

everyday, imprinted in my mind yet not like

a polaroid,embroidery, or even 

an old print from a six-dollar disposable camera,

more like, an old video tape...

that is,

before the DVD was

made popular 

In the brassy summer afternoons, where

the golden nostalgia seems sweet

and honey-like the moody ambiguity

 of the unexpected SAD-

fades all present-tense warmth into

shivers and resurrects the

reality of the framed images that i cannot

rip apart,

rip apart, or even glue together

just to write about

sitting in the milky sun, wondering how long

it will at last, and why

there is not yet something wrong

the disguised shadow dances in laughter

just before jumping up behind you

blinding-folding you, undercover

vacuuming the curiosity

nothing left to wonder
